No, you can refer your own child for speech pathology.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
HOW MUCH WILL AN ASSESSMENT OR THERAPY SESSION COST?
Please contact us for specific rates. We also charge a $32 flat rate for travel per session as part of our mobile service provision.
Medicare - Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan
The CDM plan is a scheme that allows eligible patients to receive up to 5 subsidised sessions through Medicare per calendar year. Please firstly discuss your child’s eligibility with your GP. MJSP requires a full payment to be made after your session, and then a rebate can be received using the invoice provided through Medicare.
National Disability Scheme (NDIS)
Mikaela Jraij Speech Pathology is currently only able to provide services to self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants.
Private Health Insurance
Please confirm with your health fund that you are eligible for speech therapy under your current plan.

We provide a mobile service primarily to Sydney's Inner West. Please contact us to discuss if we can provide support in your location.
WHAT SUBURBS DO YOU VISIT?
HOW OFTEN AND FOR HOW LONG WILL MY CHILD NEED TO ACCESS THERAPY?
As each child is different, and each has different strengths and weaknesses, there is no specific rule here. Therapy options include 45-minute or 1-hour sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Some children improve quickly, whilst others require regular therapy. Sometimes a child also needs a break from therapy, and therefore we will work together to decide upon a therapy service that suits the needs of the child and the whole family.
WHERE CAN THERAPY TAKE PLACE?
At Mikaela Jraij Speech Pathology, we are solely a mobile service (this means we do not have a clinic-base). We can discuss your family's specific needs and where therapy could take place, however options include at your home, your child's preschool or school (dependent on the setting's rules) or other community (e.g., park) environments.
