Mikaela is an experienced Speech Pathologist and the founder of Mikaela Jraij Speech Pathology. She is a patient and empathetic Speech Pathologist who believes that learning occurs best through play and other routine-based activities. She aims to support families in developing holistic and functional goals for their children, so that they can be active participants in their communities.

 

Mikaela graduated from Macquarie University with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology (MSLP) following a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She is a Certified Practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia (CPSP) as well as a Hanen Certified Speech Pathologist, and believes in the importance of regular up-to-date continuous education.

Mikaela has experience working in a variety of preschool, school, early intervention, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary settings, supporting children facing a range of speech, language, listening, and communication difficulties. She has also worked closely with the NDIS as part of the Early Childhood Intervention program, which developed in her a passion for advocacy and capacity building, as well as the skills to support you and your child as you navigate the 'NDIS world'. She has a strong interest in early language development, social communication skills and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), and has experience working with Autistic children, children with developmental or language delays, speech sound disorders, hearing loss, and other complex communication needs.
